You Do Not Know What They Innovated After You

Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Some of my companions will come towards me at the Fountain [on the Day of Judgement] until I recognize them. They will be taken away from me, then I will say: My companions! It will be said: You do not know what they innovated after you.”

Ponder This Hadith

The Prophet ﷺ describes people he recognizes as his own, standing before him on the Day of Judgement. Yet they are taken away, not for disbelief, but for introducing changes after him.

They identified as his followers, but they altered what he left.

Would a community that openly claims the right to replace the entire Sunnah with different teachings be turned away – or welcomed in?
