Whoever Turns Away From My Sunnah is Not From Me

Hadith
Abdullah ibn Amr reported the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me.”

Ponder This Hadith

This statement is striking not because it condemns ignorance, but because it addresses choice. The Prophet ﷺ did not say whoever does not know my Sunnah, nor whoever struggles to follow it. Rather, he spoke of the one who deliberately turns away from it.

If abandoning the Sunnah were part of true guidance, why would the Prophet ﷺ warn so strongly against turning away from it?
