Hadith
Abu Huraira reported the Prophet ﷺ said: “Islam is to worship Allah without associating any partner with Him, to establish Salah, to give Zakat, to fast the month of Ramadan, to perform Hajj to the House, to enjoin good and forbid evil, and to greet your people with ‘Salaam’. Whoever neglects anything from them has abandoned a part of Islam, and whoever neglects all of them has thrown Islam behind his back.”
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الإِسْلامُ أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلا تُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلاةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ وَالأَمْرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْيُ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتَسْلِيمُكَ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ فَمَنِ انْتَقَصَ شَيْئًا مِنْهُنَّ فَهُوَ سَهْمٌ فِي الإِسْلامِ يَدَعُهُ وَمَنْ تَرَكَهُنَّ كُلَّهُنَّ فَقَدْ وَلَّى الإِسْلامَ ظَهْرَهُ

Ponder This Hadith
Ismailism teaches the abandonment of these practices – extending even to replacing the Prophetic greeting of as-salāmu ʿalaykum (“Peace be upon you”) with “Ya Ali Madad” (“May Ali help you”). How can one adopt these new beliefs, disregard the beliefs and practices the Prophet ﷺ explicitly taught and emphasized, and not be among those who have “cast Islam behind their backs”?
