No Point In External Worship, Even Animals Can Do It – Aga Khan III

Documented Farman — Sultan Muhammad Shah (Aga Khan III)
“You turn to the religion of others — those are external (ẓāhirī) religions. In all those religions, there is worship through the external, through the body, and through the flesh. Even animals are capable of performing worship with the tongue. What use is this? Cows, oxen, etc. — all have ears, tongues, and bodies. So what is the difference between an ox and you?”
عبادت تو حیوان بھی کر سکتے ہیں۔ یہ کس کام کی ہے؟ گائے، بیل وغیرہ سب کے کان، زبان اور بدن ہے، تب بیل میں اور تم میں کیا فرق ہے؟
Tum dūsre ke dīn mein jāte ho, woh ẓāhirī dīn hai. In tamām mazāhib mein ẓāhir kī, badan kī aur gosht kī ‘ibādat hai. Zabān kī ‘ibādat to ḥaiwān bhī kar sakte hain. Yeh kis kām kī hai? Gā’ey, bail waghaira sab ke kān, zabān aur badan hai, tab bail mein aur tum mein kyā farq hai?
